Houston Katy Appliance Repair is proud to announce our 2014 Scholarship Winner!
This outstanding individual is Festus Amoye and he’s currently a Junior Psychology Major at Houston Baptist University.
Mr. Amoye is a 2004 graduate of Elsik High School in Alief, ISD and a veteran after having served in our nation’s armed forces for nine years. After graduation, Mr. Amoye plans on using his educational training to help other young men and women in the greater Houston metro area go on to achieve their higher education goals while graduating “with a plan and less debt.”
Mr. Amoye beat out dozens of finalists by submitting the most exceptional 1000 word essay explaining the numerous benefits and role that locally-owned small businesses play in the economic health and social vibrancy of our community. Scholarship contestants were also asked to explain how our local area community would be impacted without these vital small businesses and the jobs they create, as well as formulate and detail ideas on how our area colleges , universities and trade schools can better enhance the health and potential success of our small businesses.
